In an update today, the Department of Infrastructure says the amount of time needed to carry out the work has been extended following a request from the contractors.

As a result, sailings on 8-9 November will be affected as well as sailings on 1-2 November.

The Steam Packet Company says, as a result of the works, sailings on 8-9 November will run to and from Heysham and coaches will be provided to and from Liverpool.

The company states: "Unfortunately as a result of the additional time time required to complete these works, sailings on Saturday 8th November and Sunday 9th November will be to and from Heysham (please note the departure time on 8th November will be 07:30hrs from Douglas).

"Coaches will be provided to/from Liverpool (departing at 10:30hrs) arriving in Heysham before 12:30hrs (depending on traffic), the coach will then wait and transport passengers on the Manxman arriving in Heysham to Liverpool."

During 1-2 November, passengers due to sail to Liverpool will be taken to Heysham and transferred back to Liverpool terminal via coach.
