Vessel escorted back to harbour
Douglas lifeboat was called out yesterday lunchtime (Sun 16) to go to the aid of a yacht.
The 36ft vessel had been sailing with others in Douglas Bay when its sails became entangled in the yacht's rigging.
The crew tried to use their inboard engine to motor back into Douglas Harbour but called the coastguard after a brisk wind prevented them from making any headway.
For the second time in twenty four hours Douglas all-weather lifeboat was launched with a view to towing the vessel into harbour.
However, the vessel did eventually manage to make it in to harbour under its own power with the lifeboat standing by.
