Anti-abortion group reiterate stance
Dr Alex Allinson's Abortion Reform Bill is "extreme and dangerous" according to LIFE Isle of Man.
The anti-abortion group is calling on MHKs to reject the measures if they want to protect both women and unborn babies.
LIFE claims it's disappointed Dr Allinson has chosen not to take onboard their concerns about the omission of psychiatric evaluation and care for women in crisis pregnancy requesting an abortion on mental health grounds.
They also claim people with disabilities will be deeply disappointed at the proposed legislation of abortion right up to birth for disabled babies . . and that Dr Allinson's proposals open the floodgates to the "exploitation of, and potential harm to women, by a money hungry abortion industry"
Dr Allinson's bill had its first reading in the Keys this week, after which he said there would be much to discuss in the weeks ahead.
