Cause of death would be listed as the illness on death certificates
If assisted dying was made legal on the Island, life insurance policies would still be paid out.
Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson has brought forward a new Assisted Dying Bill which would give mentally competent adults who are terminally ill the right to end their lives.
It's currently expected to be debated by politicians in the next couple of months, after the first reading took place in the House of Keys back in June.
Dr Allinson says it's an issue he made sure to look at before presenting the bill:
