Minister says technology could play a major role in elections
The Policy and Reform Minister says technology could play a major role in shaping the future of Manx democracy.
Chris Thomas is calling on the public to submit their views in a consultation on electoral reform, launched recently by the government.
It includes questions on a wide range of issues, including the role of returning officers, an alternative to voting in person, and electoral registration.
Mr Thomas says the use of technology could fundamentally change how we take part in elections, but ultimately public engagement is key:
The consultation closes on May 20, and can be found via the government's website.
