Gov't target states 93% should see doctor within two weeks of referral
Less than 70% cancer patients on the Island are receiving appointments within two weeks of being referred.
Figures published by the Department of Health and Social Care show just 69.6% of those diagnosed in the 2020-21 financial year have been seen within 14 days.
It's down from 83% in the 2019-20 period, and short of the 93% target.
Speaking to Sian Cowper, Onchan MHK Julie Edge, who requested the statistics, says the impact of the coronavirus pandemic shouldn't be an excuse:
