Chief Minister welcomes changes
The Chief Minister says the importance of the Manx parliament’s upper house cannot be overstated.
Howard Quayle’s welcomed a range of changes to the way MLCs are elected.
It includes measures to ensure the vote, by MHKs, is made public as opposed to via a secret ballot.
However, Mr Quayle insists, despite the changes, the Legislative Council has a role to play in scrutinising legislation.
