Quayle announces latest change at media conference

The legal requirement for the Island's population to socially distance is to end on Monday.

Howard Quayle confirmed the change today's media conference, but says it will still be required in some environments, including health and care facilities.

The chief minister has warned the public that one-metre social distancing could be reintroduced as necessary.

It's after the Island recorded a twenty-second consecutive day without a new case of coronavirus.

IoM public health says 'local elimination' of the disease will be achieved next week, if the Island reaches 28 days with no new cases.

Mr Quayle says the 111 helpline will remain, and has asked the public asked to be vigilant for symptoms.

He adds hygiene recommendations will remain in place, like washing your hands regularly.
