Issue high on Celtic League's AGM agenda
The Celtic League will appeal to the United Nations to ensure Manx fishing rights are defended.
The group's Director of Information Alastair Kneale says the League doubts the government's ability to protect the Island's waters from exploitation by foreign vessels.
The League fears Manx fishing rights could be eroded or overlooked by the UK during its Brexit negotiations.
Delegates from the six Celtic nations met in Peel last weekend for the organisation's AGM - resolutions were passed on issues such as the impact of super trawlers in the Atlantic sea, and Gaelic language rights.
Mr Kneale says approaching the UN to protect the Island's fisheries was the right move:
