Search warrants executed on the day new sanctions imposed on international scam network
Police have confirmed that raids were carried out on the Island earlier this week.
The Isle of Man Constabulary, alongside other partner agencies, executed search warrants at premises in the Douglas and Onchan areas on Tuesday morning (14 October).
Whilst no link has been drawn by the authorities involved, the searches were carried out on the same day that new sanctions were imposed by the UK and US on a network of illegal scam centres deriving from Southeast Asia.
The sanctions - which are automatically applied by the Isle of Man - have seen millions of pounds’ worth of property, business and other assets controlled by this network and its enablers frozen.
