Nominations close this afternoon for the vacancy on Douglas Council.
The seat in Athol Ward is available after the resignation of councillor Alan Quirk a fortnight ago.
Council leader David Christian is calling for candidates with vision and determination to come forward.
Nomination forms are available at Douglas Town Hall and the deadline is five o’clock.
In the event of a contest, the by-election would take place on October the 31st.
