Cycling challenge in memory of Dan Kneen to return to Jurby this weekend

Entries for this weekend's Le Dans cycling challenge have been extended until 9pm tomorrow evening. (31 July)

Taking place across Saturday and Sunday (2-3 August) participants will put their stamina to the test around Jurby Race Circuit - all in aid of the Dan Kneen Charitable Fund.

There are two events this year:

The classic 24-hour challenge – where solo riders, pairs, and teams take on a full day of non-stop cycling.

The 8-hour challenge – running from 12pm to 8pm on Saturday (2 August).

This year marks seven years since 30-year-old Dan Kneen - a popular TT rider - was killed during an accident in a qualifying session for the 2018 races.

The Dan Kneen Charitable Fund, alongside Rock2Recovery, has also created 'TORQ' - a mental health and wellbeing support service for the Island’s road racing scene, which the funds from this weekend's event will support.

Dan's partner Leanne Harper explains why people should take part:
