Large supply of lateral flow devices arrives on Island

New collection hubs added

Over 100,000 lateral flow testing devices have now arrived on Island.

The new supplies come after the Isle of Man ran out of home testing kits last week - as of last Thursday (22 July) 40,000 had already been distributed.

Lateral flow tests will be available from selected pharmacies - you can find more information HERE.

Local authorities are also now assisting in the distribution of the kits.

They'll be available to collect from the following locations during normal opening hours:

• Peel Town Hall
• Ramsey Town Hall
• Castletown Town Hall
• Henry Bloom Noble Library in Douglas
• Port Erin Commissioners Office
   

Civil Defence will also run collection hubs tonight (26 July) and tomorrow (27 July) from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Collection points will be at the car parks of Ramsey Grammar School, Castle Rushen High School, Ballakermeen High School and QEII High School.

Government says no more than one set of seven kits should be requested per person to deter stockpiling and make sure those who need them have access to them.

Residents are also now being told not to test themselves more than twice a week.

Government says taking a test could be 'useful' if you're planning to visit someone who's vulnerable, shielding or unwell as well as for work purposes.
