Five acres of land affected
A large grass and gorse fire in the west is being tackled by crews from around the Island.
About five acres of land has been affected in an area between the Patrick Road and the old railway line at St John's.
One of the poles carrying the overhead power lines has been damaged, too.
Representatives from Manx Utilities and the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture are also on scene to ensure the safety of the fire officers.
The fire has now been surrounded and crews remain on scene damping down hot spots.
Two major appliances from Peel and four 6x6 Pinzguaers, a water carrier and the incident command vehicle are all in use.
