Work to get underway shortly
Volunteers are hoping to begin work on Queen's Pier imminently, after signing a five year lease on the landmark with government.
The Queen's Pier Restoration Trust says it needs £1.5 million of funding to fully refurbish and reopen the 130 year-old structure by 2022.
An initial £60,000 is required upfront to start restoring the first section of the pier.
Project leader Tom Durrant says renovation will be no easy task - but despite having closed 25 years ago, the Victorian infrastructure is still 'in good nick':
