Winter rain needed to replenish reservoirs
This year's dry weather could have a knock-on effect on drinking water supplies into 2019, if the long-range forecast remains for below average rainfall.
Manx Utilities has confirmed the hosepipe ban, which was brought in early last month in response to falling reservoir levels, will remain in place for the time being.
MU says, as a result of the restrictions, mains water usage has fallen by 10%.
