Committee takes evidence
The jury system in the Isle of Man will come under further scrutiny this morning (Friday).
It’s the latest sitting of a Tynwald committee formed to examine the operation of the jury structure.
It will hear from the president of the Isle of Man Law Society, Simon Cain, at 10.30am in the Legislative Council Chamber in Douglas.
Three MHKs – Chris Robertshaw, Peter Karran and Bill Malarkey – are hearing evidence on a range of aspects, including the make-up of a jury, the extent to which jurors should be trained and the potential threat posed by social media.
