July wettest on record at Ronaldsway

Month records second highest mean wind speed

Last month was the wettest July on record.

Ronaldsway Met Office recorded 144.9mm of rain; more than double the long term average.

The previous record of 139.8mm was from July 1985.

The wettest day of July 2023 was Sunday 23rd, when cyclists in the Gran Fondo event braved 35mm of rain.

Meanwhile, the mean wind speed of 11.8 knots is the second highest on record, behind 1988.

Temperatures were close to normal with a mean daytime maximum of 18 degrees Celsius.

The warmest day was Friday the 7th, with a high of 20.4 degrees Celsius.

Sunshine hours were also close to average.
