'Joined up' approach needed on nursery place provision

Civil servants give views during committee

An scrutiny body has heard there needs to be a more 'joined-up approach' in government if the Island is to provide better nursery provision.

Tynwald's Social Affairs Policy Review Committee was taking evidence from various high-level civil servants at the Legislative Council Chamber this afternoon (2 Feb).

It comes as many families raised concerns with their politicians about the struggles of finding pre-school places for their children

Education Minister Graham Cregeen; education early years advisor Chrissy Callaghan; treasury chief executive Sheila Lowe; health chief executive Malcolm Couch and government employment and skills group manager Andy Stewart all gave their views on issue.
