Newsagent describes it was worst period of disruption for 30 years
Sailing cancellations are having a ‘considerable financial impact’ on Manx businesses according to the Island’s wholesale newsagent.
GE White Limited – which distributes all national and local newspapers and magazines – says it’s the worst period of disruption in 30 years.
The Manxman is making just one return sailing a day whilst some Steam Packet employees take industrial action in a row over changes to their employment.

As a result freight is being brought in, overnight, via the MV Arrow.
The current disruption follows bad weather before and after Christmas which the Steam Packet blamed for a number of cancellations.
Yesterday (4 January) Treasury Minister Alex Allinson said supplies of food, fuel and essential medications to the Isle of Man are not currently at risk.
