New position to make savings across government
The Isle of Man is to have an Auditor General.
Tynwald has given the go ahead for the role to be in place by 1 April next year.
The main task will be to make savings across government.
Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson asked members to look at the cost of not making the appointment rather than the sum needed to fund the position:
