Island ranked fourth in global survey

The Isle of Man is one of the safest places to live according to a new global survey.

Only Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Taiwan has a lower crime rate in figures gathered by the World Population Review.

The overall data is calculated by dividing the total number of reported offences, of any kind, by the total number of people living in that state or country then multiplying the result by 100,000.

The Island has an index rating of 19.25 and is placed 4th on the list; the UK is rated 73rd with a score of 46.07 with the Republic of Ireland just ahead in 70th. 

According to the survey Venezuela is considered the most dangerous place to live followed by Papa New Guinea and South Africa.
