The Island's bee colony has been praised by a UK expert.
Vice-chairman of the Bee Improvement and Bee Breeders' Association Roger Patterson visited the Island to assess their suitability for use in breeding.
The Island has more than 800 beehives and apiaries and was recently declared Varroa-free.
Speaking on Manx Radio's Countryside, Mr Patterson said the public needs to be aware of the risks Varroa presents to our bees:
Plan for future of Hospice to be brought forward 'during this administration'
Online gambling sector subject to more 'rigorous scrutiny' than ever before
Plans to create a 'people's mandate' for prospective election candidates
Open Farm event inspires next generation of Manx farmers
