Island's first medicinal cannabis dispensing service to open

Patients can pick up prescriptions through Karsons Pharmacy

The Island's first medicinal cannabis dispensing service is opening this week. 

From tomorrow (1 December), patients with a private prescription for Cannabis Based Products for Medicinal Use will be able to get their prescription through Karsons Pharmacy in Onchan.  

While the service gets established, patients are warned it could take around 7-10 working days from the date of the original prescription for medication to arrive on the Island, however it's hoped this time will reduce. 

The service is acting as a 12-month pilot scheme to collect data in order to shape future service provision on the Island.
