Officers hope to reassure the public about how it's implemented here at a talk

The Island's armed policing policies are about resilience and not in response to any particular threat.

That's according to the Isle of Man Constabulary, as it prepares to host a talk about how it's implemented here.

Trained officers will be leading the event at the Falcon's Nest in Port Erin tomorrow (Wednesday 18 March) in the hopes of debunking some of the myths around armed policing.

Inspector Elliot Butler says it's hoped the event will reassure the public about how firearms are used by the the police on the Island:

This particular event with the Rotary Club of Rushen and Western Mann has now sold out, but the police are hoping they can host similar events in the future.
