Manx Bat Group seek volunteers
An Island-wide citizen-science project is being launched this summer.
It's hoped "Bat Search" will go on to provide data to form a comprehensive map of bat species and numbers around the Island.
The project has been funded by a grant awarded to the Manx Bat Group by the Manx Lottery Trust.
Chair of Group, Kevin Wells, says it's hoped volunteers from around the Island will get involved, using state-of-the-art bat detectors which they've been able to purchase.
It's planned to repeat the surveys in coming years in order to form a picture of any trends in bat numbers on the Island.
