Island to mark the golden anniversary of the Millennium of Tynwald

The Island Games will be visiting the Isle of Man in 2029 - for the first time in 28 years - but it looks like that won't be the only celebration held here that year.

Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas has successfully received backing from his Tynwald colleagues for the Island to mark the Golden Anniversary of the Millennium of Tynwald.

An amendment to his motion from Speaker of the House of Keys, Juan Watterson, means the Tynwald Ceremony Arrangements Committee will oversee the organisation.
