It's been a day of mixed emotions for students collecting their GCSE results.
Official figures show the percentage of pupils attaining five or more level 2 passes, including English and maths, is up on last year, and is the second highest to date.
For some, today marks the end of full-time education, while for others, the start of a career or a journey into further studies.
