Island residents were cheated out of more than £850,000 by scammers in 2023.
The shocking statistic is highlighted in a report from the Cyber Security Centre.
The 'Threat Report' lists some of the eye-watering figures lost to a range of online scams. They include £130,000 lost to investment scams, over £19,000 lost to text message scams and £12,000 to so-called romance scams.
Mike Haywood, Director at the Cyber Security Centre told Manx Radio the figures paint a worrying picture:
