Island residents among Britain's wealthiest

Two names on Times Rich List

Two Island residents have been named among the richest people in Britain by a national UK newspaper.

The Times Rich List, published each year, says John Whittaker and Trevor Hemmings are in the top ten richest people in the Northwest of Britain.

Mr Whittaker, according to the Times, is worth £2.34 billion, down £30 million from last year, making him Britain’s 47th wealthiest person – and third in the regional table.

Trevor Hemmings, meanwhile, is said to be worth £725 million – his fortune has risen by £50 million since 2015, placing him at number 10 on the regional chart and making him Britain’s 158th richest person.
