Stokes awarded 'Emerging Talent of the Year'
A journalist working on the Isle of Man has won a Royal Television Society Award.
Joshua Stokes, from Granada Reports ITV, was awarded the ‘Emerging Young Talent of the Year’ accolade at the Journalism Awards 2024.
He was nominated for his special report: ‘Summerland: The Forgotten Disaster’ which focussed on the 50th anniversary of the fire at the leisure centre.
The blaze killed 50 people and injured around 80.
The RTS jury said it was ‘blown away’ by the resourcefulness of his work and the ‘emotional power of the storytelling’.
