Comis Golf Resort in collaboration with Sight Matters
The Isle of Man has been hosting a 'first of its kind' golf tournament for visually impaired residents over the last month.
Members of Sight Matters have been taking part in a four-week long event at the Comis Hotel and Golf Resort.
The majority of participants had no golf experience, and the experience included three practice sessions, followed by a tournament to crown champions in The Long History Drive and Overall Blind Legends.
Director for Infrastructure at the Comis, Mark Emmington and CEO for Sight Matters, Cathryn Bradley explain how the event came about:
The players were trained on the putting green and the new indoor simulator.
Phil Illingworth won the Long History Drive trophy with a shot reaching 143 yards.
He says he was thankful for the opportunity:
Mark and Cathryn say they hope the event continues next year.
