A long-serving Manx advocate has been appointed the Island’s acting Attorney General.
John Quinn will serve a term of 12 months from March, acting as legal adviser to the Lieutenant Governor, Council of Ministers, government departments and statutory boards.
With the current post holder, Stephen Harding, suspended and facing prosecution on six criminal charges, an emergency sitting of the House of Keys was held earlier this month to draft legislation so an acting AG could be fast tracked.
Mr Quinn is a past president of the Isle of Man Law Society.
