It's been confirmed that officers at the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service are NOT taking part in the industrial action planned by firefighters across the UK today.
Firefighters in England and Wales who are members of the Fire Brigades Union will go on strike for four hours from midday in a dispute over pensions, but this won't affect the Island.
A statement says the Isle of Man Government and local firefighters identified the need for action over pensions some time ago and firefighters became members of the Government Unified Scheme from 1 April 2012.
