Figure revealed by Manx Utilities chairman
Just under seven per cent of the Island's electricity was generated by renewable sources last year.
The figure, revealed by Manx Utilities Chairman Dr Alex Allinson MHK in the House of Keys today, includes electricity coming from the Energy From Waste Plant.
He was responding to a question from North Douglas MHK David Ashford.
Dr Allinson said the cost of renewable energy schemes precluded Manx Utilities from adopting them for now:
