DEFA seeks public opinion on hygiene rating scheme
The food minister has denied suggestions bringing in a food hygiene rating system - similar to what the UK's had for the past decade - would mean we're behind the times.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture wants to hear the public's views on proposals for a food hygiene rating scheme in cafes, bars and restaurants.
That was introduced in the UK in 2010, but Geoffrey Boot says it isn't simply a case of being ten years slower:
