Public Health developing strategy
The Island is working on its own strategy to combat childhood obesity, according to the health minister.
It comes as the UK health secretary has announced new plans to tackle the growing problem, which could include a ban on unhealthy snacks at supermarket checkouts.
A crackdown on junk food advertising, and mandatory calorie labelling in restaurants, are also being proposed.
The most recent figures show one in every three children in England is overweight or obese - here in the Island that figure is closer to one in five.
