Intriguing lecture awaits in Arbory

Spring Quilliam lecture this evening (Thurs)

The modern-day equivalent of Captain John Quilliam will be the guest speaker at the annual Spring Quilliam lecture this evening (Thursday).

Arbory Parish Church will host the event, established to mark the parish's links to the navy through the Manxman who helped steer Nelson's flagship, Victory, at the Battle of Trafalgar.

One of the organisers, Dr Phil Smith, says tonight’s talk by Dickie Henderson, the executive officer of HMS Victory is something of a coup.
