An inquest into the death of a 60-year-old Ballabeg man was opened and adjourned this afternoon.
Neil Edward Roberts died on December 1 in a property on Queen Street in Castletown, where police and paramedics found him with extensive injuries to his head and face.
Ian Anderson, of Queen Street, has been charged with his murder.
Coroner of Inquests John Needham said he was not in a position to determine a cause of death today, and the inquest will resume after Mr Anderson's trial.
The body has now been released to the family for funeral arrangements to be made.
