Chris Thomas says the scheme isn't 'anti-Douglas'

A government initiative which sees bus fares capped at £2 comes into effect today.

However, there's been mixed views from the public as to whether it'll incentivise them to consider using public transport.

There's also been criticism that the scheme is geographically biased and despite being a system to aid with rising costs, wasn't targeting everyone who used public transport.

Speaking on Manx Radio Breakfast this morning, Infrastructure Minister Chris Thomas defended the scheme and insists it isn't 'anti-Douglas'.

But Mr Thomas said calls for a 20-percent blanket reduction weren't feasible:
