Records linked together under new scheme
New rules on how government stores citizens' data will come into force in the next year.
Changes to the law will be required to make way for the 'Smarter Services Framework', which was agreed to in principle by Tynwald this week.
Information such as income tax and healthcare records will be linked together under the scheme - but it's emphasised data will not be accessible to anyone who couldn't see it before.
Government's head of data protection has given his support to the proposals.
