Disquiet over RPI use
Plans to adopt a single, standard policy to measure inflation are in the pipeline, according to the chief minister.
Concerns have been raised after Manx Utilities revealed a 6.4% hike in the Island's water rate based on the retail prices index (RPI).
That's despite the consumer prices index (CPI) being the benchmark for government's monthly inflation rate - which is currently 1.9%.
Howard Quayle says the cost of living on the Island continues to be affected by external influences such as Brexit.
But he insists his top team is working towards a solution:
Island's police supporting UK-wide operation led by Immigration Compliance
Plan for future of Hospice to be brought forward 'during this administration'
Online gambling sector subject to more 'rigorous scrutiny' than ever before
Plans to create a 'people's mandate' for prospective election candidates
