Bus drivers are mulling over whether to take industrial action after the shock announcement this weekend they’ll all have to reapply for their old jobs.
The Department of Community Culture and Leisure took the decision to give them notice to break a deadlock in a row over paid lunch breaks as it tries to save £300,000 a year.
Billy Chesnut, himself a bus driver, represents the staff with the Unite union.
He says there’s a legal process to go through before any industrial action could take place:
Peel bar impacted by bus strikes
Care funding reform report delayed following ministerial change
Charity plans baby loss memorial garden at Noble's Hospital
New rights for neonatal care leave and carer's leave on the way
