Manx Taxpayers' Alliance hits out at 2024 Budget

The Manx Taxpayers’ Alliance has described this year’s Budget as ‘very bad’ for working families on the Isle of Man.  

The group has criticised government’s decision to increase the higher level of Income Tax from 20 percent to 22 percent.

It says keeping the personal allowance so low, when inflation has surged over the last few years, means the lowest paid workers in the community will suffer from the biggest increases.

The group also says it ‘remains extraordinary’ that the announcement was revealed to the public shortly after 10am today (20 February) when Tynwald started.
