Work of Northern Lighthouse Board discussed
What's guaranteed to be an illumininating talk will be held at Loch Prom church tonight (Wed 29th)
"More than lighthouses" is the theme taken by Mike Bullock, the Chief Executive of the Northern Lighthouses Board.
He will discuss all the navigational aids the Board provide from radar beacons and buoys to the foghorn.
The Board also has a responsibility to oversee the safe marking of ports, harbours, fish farms, wind farms and offshore oil and gas installations and aims to always live up to its motto "In Salutem Omnium" or "for the safety of all".
The talk is being hosted by the IOM Natural History and Antiquarian Society, it's open to all and gets underway at 7.15pm with refreshments available.
It's free to attend though donations are welcome.
