Green the theme for awareness day
Several well-known Island landmarks will go green this evening (24 July).
The Tower of Refuge, Ramsey swing bridge and Pulrose power station will be illuminated to mark National Samaritans Day.
The aim is to raise awareness of the charity's work and let people know the Samaritans are there for anyone who needs them 24/7.
There will also be an informal gathering on Douglas Head in memory of those who have taken their own lives, and to offer support to anyone touched by suicide.
The event at 8.30pm is open to all and will feature a memorial prayer, candle lighting and petal scatter.
Gill Porter from Samaritans Isle of Man says currently there are 58 listening volunteers, but they would like at least 75 to ensure all the shift are comfortably filled:
