First podium for Onchan rider Dan Kneen
Ian Hutchinson has secured a 16th TT win in dominating form, in today's four lap Superstock race (7 June).
In sunny, fresh conditions, but with some damp patches on the track, it was Michael Rutter who took the early advantage, ahead of Hutchinson and Peter Hickman, after James Hillier retired after just a few miles.
But Hutchy quickly took charge with an opening lap of over 131 miles-per-hour, leading Hickman and local rider Dan Kneen.
After an excellent pit stop, Hutchinson built on his lead - but there was a fierce scrap behind him between Hickman, Kneen and Michael Dunlop.
However, it was Hutchinson all the way to the chequered flag, and a 16th TT victory, finishing 22.4 seconds up on Peter Hickman. The Bingley Bullet is now the third most successful solo rider in TT history.
Third place and a first podium for Onchan resident Dan Kneen.
Hutchy, who'd had little practice time on his 1000cc BMW, clocked-up his fastest lap at 131.639 mph.
