Committee to scrutinise government's efforts
Government efforts to support local businesses through the Covid-19 pandemic will be scrutinised by a Tynwald committee this week.
The Public Accounts Committee will hear from Enterprise Minister Laurence Skelly, alongside senior civil servants from the department.
Led by Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson, the committee will examine the Business Support Schemes on Friday, from 11:05am.
Mr Watterson wants to establish "how effective these schemes have been in providing meaningful support."
He'll be joined on that panel by Chris Robertshaw MHK and Jane Poole-Wilson MLC, plus two further members of the committee who will be elected in Tynwald tomorrow (Tuesday, 5 May).
The panel wants to hear from Island residents who wish to comment on this topic - you can email committees@tynwald.org.im by close of business tomorrow.
