Results will be used to create Island's first Radon Map
Two thousand Island homes are to be invited to take part in a Radon gas survey next week.
The confidential results will be used to create the Isle of Man's first Radon map - examples of which are already available in other parts of the British Isles.
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas, which is found in all buildings.
Levels of the gas are dependent on the ground on which they are built, construction methods and how they are used.
