Manx Utilities responds to 'one in 20 year' heatwave
A hosepipe ban will be in force in the Island from Friday, 3 August.
It's in response to what Manx Utilities has described as a 'one in 20 year' heatwave.
The company this afternoon announced the measure, after monitoring reservoir water levels.
Future rainfall predictions from the Met Office have also been taken into account.
The ban means watering private gardens, washing cars, or filling paddling pools using a hosepipe is forbidden, and those ignoring the ban could face a fine of up to £1,000.
